Alessandra Romano

Alessandra Romano studied at "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan with Paolo Borciani and finished the Superior Course studying in Geneva (Switzerland) with Corrado Romano. Afterwards, she received a diploma from the "Benedetto Marcello" Conservatory in Venice under the guidance of Giuliano Carmignola. She followed up with numerous specialization classes with well-known violinist in Italy, France, Israel, Germany and following an audition with Dorothy Delay at Juilliard School in New York she was recommended to the Royal College of Music in London, where she studied with Itzhak Rashkovsky earning the prestigious degree for soloists, "Associate of the Royal College of Music - Violin Performing". In London she taught violin as an assistant of students at the Royal College of Music and at Purcell School and she carried out at intense concert schedule with the London based pianist Andrew Robinson. She works as a freelance for symphonic and opera productions with different orchestras, for example Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI in Turin and she plays as a soloist with a variety of orchestras. For six years she was the first violin and soloist with the Italian State Orchestra - RAI - in Milan in television transmissions on RAI 1 and RAI 2 with the live performances daily under the direction of Ettore Righello. She established, as the first violin and soloist, the string ensemble Serenata with whom she participates in various television transmissions on RAI 1 and 2. Alessandra performed also as a soloist with the soprano Cecilia Gasdia for the transmission "Una voce per Padre Pio" on RAI 1. She has taken jazz courses held by Sante Palumbo at the Accademia Musicale in Castellanza (Italy) and recently she performed at Blue Note in Milan. During the last years she was musically consulted by the recording company Kicco, for whom she collaborated editing various opera projects, and recording some CDs. Her concert activity is always accompanied by her valuable didactic experience received in London. She is in charge of creating and putting together cultural and musical event as a consultant for public and private institutions. Recently she was invited to perform a program for solo violin at the Sala delle Risonanze at prestigious Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, for the International Health Conference. She has a wide range of chamber duo ensembles with whom she performs with guitar, harp, piano, accordion and organ.
